LP Lexicon Podcast 024: Hounds of Love by Kate Bush

Artist: Kate Bush.

Album: Hounds of Love.

Show notes: Hounds of Love this week. I was playing some of The Ninth Wave earlier this week, and came up with the idea to use Hounds of Love as a safety net, should I be unable to complete the project I have in mind, for an upcoming episode, which ultimately happened this week (Work commitments). Going to put it together for the next episode, as I'll have a little time this week.

We had a nice shout-out from ThatMan on FatMan, this week. I really enjoyed their ThatIverssary show, which I appeared on, so check the link, if you would be so kind.

I bought a new turntable this week, as I had been suffering with my old one for some time. For those who would like to know, this is what we are running on, now.

Thanks for downloading, and welcome to all the new listeners.

LP Lexicon Podcast 023: Morning Phase by Beck

Artist: Beck.

Album: Morning Phase.

Show notes: Hearing that Beck won Grammies really gave me a thrill last week, although the controversy that surrounded it annoyed me immensely. It's just childish. "He won this. She deserved to win that." Grow up.

I've become fond of E-Pro, too, this week, from Guero, and I've give this a fair few spins:

Beck (á la Michel Gondry) - Deadweight.

I'm looking forward to picking those albums up which I'm missing. Modern Guilt is a modern classic (See what I did there?), and check out Modern Guilt Acoustic.

On the table today, we had 70% of the Beck discography, 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die, 1001 Songs You Must Hear Before You Die, 1000 Record covers by Taschen and the Guinness British Hit Singles and Albums (2006). We plan to use these more as each week goes on, along with other books (of which, there are many) from our respective personal libraries.

... aaaand, Keeping it Peel.

Artist: My Bloody Valentine.

Album: Loveless.

Show notes: I've tried to locate the MBV-like track which I recorded all those years ago, but to no avail. Sad, really, because I've been thinking about it recently and to replicate those sounds would be next-to-impossible.

Only Shallow.

1991: What a time to be alive.

Album: Refrain of Evangelion.

Evangelion. We love it here at Lexicon HQ. As mentioned, we aim too introduce our listenership to different styles and cultures, and this is presented well through the works of Shirō Sagisu.

Don't say I don't ever give you anything.

Give it a spin, and let me know if you like it.

Shinji's watching you.
